We have completed our WWII unit and began the Cold War on TuesdayOn Tuesday, students received their unit snapshot which is attached for your convenience.  For this unit, students will need to create a timeline of all significant events of the Cold War from 1945-1989.  This timeline is due on May 5th.  Grades are current at this time, please check PowerSchool for your student’s grade.

Students received the unit snapshot for our new unit This Land is My Land today in class. This unit covers colonization, exploration, and imperialism. The packet is designed to help students write an essay at the end of the unit as a summative assessment and includes a graphic organizer and rubric for the essay. The essay is due 1/19/17 at the start of class and should be printed before 8am. We have completed our “What did we Forget?” unit and took the assessment today. If your child was absent, they will have to make-up the test during mentoring time. I have collected their journals and will be entering grades for both these and the assessment today and early next week. If your child is not happy with their assessment grade, they can correct their answers for partial credit next week during mentoring time.

Next week, we will be taking the beginning of the year MAPs tests.

I am your child’s world history instructor. To keep you informed about assignments and what we are learning about, I will be sending out frequent updates. I also want to let you know that if you have questions, this email address is the best way to contact me.  I will respond as soon as I am able.
