Dear Corrales International School Community,
I have been attempting to get a reasonable explanation as to why our school grade dropped so drastically.  Evidently the PED gave us no points in two sections of the report because, somehow, they determined that CIS did not have a graduation cohort in 2015-16.  We did.  These are two areas that the school had an “A” grade for last year.  We will be appealing the current grade.  Our test scores are above APS and State averages, but we can, and will, do better.  One other area that hurt the school grade was attendance.  A school must be above a 95% attendance rate.  Corrales International is about a 93% attendance rate.  Because of the size of the school, pulling a child out for anything other than illness drastically effects our overall attendance levels.
I don’t believe that the grade reflects what actually is happening at Corrales International School, however, there is room for improvement and we will be pushing hard to make this school and our students exemplary.

Please be cautious and respectful in our pickup/drop off lanes. Cars are not allowed to turn left into our lot during pick up and drop off.  If you have both PYP and MYP students to pick up, please wait until the latest release time to pick up your students. Waiting in the pickup lane only causes difficulties for others. We appreciate your thoughtfulness!
MYP PARENTS: Most MYP teachers have established a Google Classroom Site for their classes and their students and guardians have been invited to attend. This is where all classroom assignment information is disseminated. If you have not received invitations, please contact your child’s teacher directly.
Students brought home parent login information for the PowerSchool system that you can use to check your child’s grades in a class.

What is the Foundation?
We are a group of parents who have come together to support the cause of our children’s school. Our primary mission is to support the mission of CIS; at the moment all efforts are focused on raising money for our Building Fund. In order to achieve this goal our current board of 4 parents must grow in number and involvement. We invite parents, grandparents, and invested community members to become a part of the Foundation in either a leadership role, or as a member at large.
  • *    Please contact LaJean McCaig if you are interested in being a leader in our community as our new Co-Chair!
