Parents/Guardians of 11th and 12th grade students:
Corrales International School, in partnership with and, is proud to offer 11th and 12th grade high school students the opportunity to take free, dual-credit college courses, either on line or at Central New Mexico Community College and the University of New Mexico (Go Lobos!). This exciting opportunity was established in order to expose your child to rigorous college coursework while still in high school and earn valuable high school and college credit. We want to provide every opportunity for our students to succeed and we thank you for being patient with us while we educated ourselves on the procedures. We are in the process of improving CIS’s Next Step Plans and revising CIS’s dual-enrollment policies to meet new requirements mandated by CNM and UNM.
We are scheduling a meeting with those 11th and 12th grade parents who would like further clarification on dual-enrollment for: Monday, Sept 26th, at 5:30pm, here at CIS. We will discuss the new CIS book policy, Next Step Plans, Naviance, upcoming assessments, and general graduation requirements.
Parents and students will also have an opportunity to schedule a meeting with Dawn Jackson and Sheley Wimmer to review their student’s Next Step Plans and progress towards graduation. These meetings will take place the last two weeks of October.
Once again, thank you for your patience and we hope to see you on September 26th.
