Overview of Class https://corralesis.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Music-Syllabus-23_24.pdf

Music at Corrales International School is presented to students with the intention that they have hands on experience while thoroughly understanding the fundamentals of music. Students are given ample opportunity to explore music, sounds and instruments within a structured, guided, classroom experience. However, along this road of exploration, students are given the language, vocabulary and musical context to form a deeper understanding of what musical elements are being experienced. It is our hope that within the general music class offered here at CIS, students will gain confidence, background and inspiration that will springboard the students to explore the musical arts further. (MYP Students please see course syllabus provided in link above)

Rubric https://corralesis.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/MYP-Participation-Rubric-23_24.pdf

Students at both the PYP and MYP level are expected to come to music class with an open mind and an eagerness to learn. As the students are told frequently, excellence is not expected, however, students are expected to demostrate effort. If regular and consisten effort is applied, excellence will come. At the MYP level, students will be given a participation grade. This is based on the students engagement in class. (MYP Students please see course rubric provided in link above)
