Dear Kindergarten parents,

Welcome to Corrales International School!

I am the kindergarten teacher, Maestra Gaby Escobedo; I have been a teacher at CIS since our wonderful school started, and have the honor to welcome our kindergarten students into our Spanish immersion program and introduce them to the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

Our school, through our great CIS PTA, offers the incoming kindergarten students a free Summer Language Academy.  I highly recommend that your child attend this valuable program in order to acclimate to the Spanish language as well as the class routine before the hustle and bustle of the regular school year begins. The summer camp will be held at CIS (5500 Wilshire Blvd NE) and will start July 18th and will end August 4th, meeting Monday through Thursday from 8:00 am to 12 pm.  Please make sure to pack a healthy lunch each day for your child.  Uniforms are not required for the summer program.

On the first day of the regular school year you will have an opportunity to sign up to bring snack for the class and I will create a roster for the following months so that our children have healthy snacks daily.  CIS is a uniform school and all children must follow the CIS dress code.  Uniform shirts will be offered this year through a new vendor, Black Duck.  Information on how to order as well as opportunities to access the CIS uniform closet will be available in mid July.

I look forward to meeting you and your child on July 18th!  During that time we will start our first IB unit of inquiry; How we organize ourselves.
