Kinder Summer Language Academy

Dear Kindergarten parents,

Welcome to Corrales International School!

I am the kindergarten teacher, Maestra Gaby Escobedo; I have been a teacher at CIS since our wonderful school started, and have the honor to welcome our kindergarten students into our Spanish immersion program and introduce them to the International Baccalaureate curriculum.

Our school, through our great CIS PTA, offers the incoming kindergarten students a free Summer Language Academy.  I highly recommend that your child attend this valuable program in order to get used to the Spanish language as well as the class routine before the hustle and bustle of the regular school year begins. The summer camp will be held in our new facility at 5500 Wilshire Ave NE near I-25 and Alameda Blvd and will start July 28th and will end July 31st, meeting Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 1 pm.  Please pack a healthy lunch each day for your child.  Uniforms are not required for the summer program.

On the first day of the regular school year you will have an opportunity to sign up to bring snack for the class and I will create a roster for the following months so that our children have healthy snacks daily.  CIS is a uniform school and all children must follow the CIS dress code. Uniform shirts can be purchased online at customoutfitters.com (click Stores and look for the CIS green apple logo) and standard uniform bottoms can be purchased at clothing stores.

I look forward to meeting you and your child on July 14th!  During that time we will start our first IB unit of inquiry; How we organize ourselves.

  • Transdisciplinary theme

An inquiry into the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities; the structure and function of organizations; societal decision-making; economic activities and their impact on humankind and the environment.

Central idea

  • A society requires parameters in order to function effectively.

Thank you for entrusting your child’s education to CIS!
