Welcome to my MYP Spanish Class for grades 7 through 11! This is my 7th year with Corrales International School, and with all of my classes, I aim to make them as engaging and creative as possible so learning is fun and effective. See the syllabus for each class:



9th Grade Interdisciplinary Spanish/Art IB Unit (QTR 2)
Spanish students participated in an Interdisciplinary IB Unit in collaboration with their ART CLASS. Here are some details of the UNIT:
Real world issue we are trying to address through this IDU: We want our students to understand the influence of NM culture on their lives and be able to share the richness and benefits of their culture with NM visitors.
Disciplinary contributions to the integrated purpose:
- In (discipline) Visual Arts the purpose is to express through artwork representing the symbols of NM’s rich culture.
- In (discipline) Spanish the purpose is to research and communicate in Spanish the richness of NM culture and life for visitors to NM.
Key Concepts: Perspective, Conventions, Style
Global Concepts Globalization and sustainability (Exploration: the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities)
Conceptual understanding: We want students to understand their own perspective of cultural and personal conventions while expressing their unique style.
Statement of inquiry: We gain perspective on the conventions of our culture while expressing our own style related to the interconnectedness of human-made systems and communities.

To access the textbooks, Avancemos 1,2,3, for our classes, please visit the online textbook versions. Remember to input your organization, Corrales International School, and state, New Mexico. Then, proceed to type in your username (Last Name, First Initial) and the password (First Name, Last Initial). The password is case sensitive.
All homework is expected work is posted on Google Classroom. The passwords to your particular Google Classroom are on the syllabi above. In addition, please check Power School for any updates on grades. All grades are updated regularly on Power School. If you are absent, you may have a ZERO for your missing work until it is made up.
Finally, as an IB (International Baccalaureate) School, we use both traditional grading methods (0-100) and an IB grading system (see chart below).
